Virginia Vacation

We hit the road and vacationed in Virginia during June this year. We flew, we drove, we wound through the mountains, we swam in the the sea. It was a bunch of fun packed into just a week! And, we did some serious family bonding, to say the least.

This first set of photos is from our stay at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. Bryan had a conference there, so we tagged along and got to enjoy the historic get-away tucked up in the Appalachian mountains. The resort was founded 10 years before the American Revolution
so it was "vintage" to say the least.

Chasing Fireflies in the twilight on the huge lawn was one of our favorite memories from the trip. The kids caught a ton of them and they would light up right there in your hand! It was magical.

The indoor pool, original to the resort, was something else. You could just picture Teddy Roosevelt swimming in it!

The kids overlooking the Great Hall. Our room opened up right onto this balcony.

Enjoying Ice Cream after going to "Afternoon Tea" complete with china tea cups and saucers in the Great Hall. Ice cream on the porch was definitely more fun for the kids!

The kids got to go the the "Kids Club" one day, which was fun for them and awesome for Mommy & Daddy!
